A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of strangling to death her six-year-old daughter at their home in Tokyo’s Itabashi Ward.

According to police, a man called 110 at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and said that his wife had strangled his daughter at their home. When police arrived, they found the child, Kazuno Soeda, lying on a futon in a bedroom on the second floor, Fuji TV reported. She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said Kazuki’s mother, Mitsue, has admitted strangling her daughter with her hands at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said Kazuno had an intellectual disability. Her mother told police stress had been building up inside her in recent days about her inability to raise her daughter.

A child is not a squeeze toy, the latter of which is a perfectly acceptable form of taking out stress. Murdering a person, is NOT. Get ready for the defenders, though, to claim it's PPD 6 years after the fact, and blame everyone but the woman.

Yea, of course the mother should take responsibility. I also think its fair to say that her stress could have been reduced though, if the father hadn't been coming home so late at 9:30 pm etc (probably daily). Don't really know the full story, so can't really say its his fault though either.

I guess what I mean is, her actions are inexcusable. It's probably pretty stressful raising a child on your own for the most part because your partner is working too much or spending nights blowing off steam drinking with colleagues. Either way, she did something horrible, and its also possible the husband also rejected his family responsibilities.

No excuses. Stress?? Are you kidding me?

Poor girl. I am sorry she was born to such a woman when there are people out there who can't have kids but really want them.

According to police, a man called 110 at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and said that his wife had strangled his daughter at their home... She was rushed to hospital where she died shortly after arrival... Kazuki’s mother, Mitsue, has admitted strangling her daughter with her hands at around 2:30 p.m.?

So 7 hours elapsed between the strangling and the 110 call, she was still alive but died soon after. She must have been in agony for those 7 hours. This is awful. How can a mother do this to her child?

So, what can you say about this? I’m far beyond anger to total disgust. I’m just sitting here shaking my head and wondering what to comment. There is a very dark side to Japanese society with some extremely emotionally unstable parents who take out all their stresses on their kids. There is just not enough love in this country. For many parents, having children is a duty and a burden (or a regretted accident). The kids become these little robots that spend their whole childhood being told what to do. And, if the pressure gets too much for their parents, they lash out at them in extremely callous ways.

RIP little angel. You are in a better place than growing up with that psycho that brought you into world.

No, she was killed at 2:30pm. It's just that the hospital can't certify the death until they have the body.

Selfish witch. Hang her!

Lol at the people blaming the dad. rather sit at home and take care of a child than work 12 to 14 hours a day to support a family. Let the woman go and work and let the man do the babysitting which a teenager in school can do.

my German friend told me if most German companies can manage their economy by working 9 to 5, then why Japan can’t???

According to several vernacular sources, the mother was worried about the future of the child who had a mental disability.

According to the article -

?She was rushed to hospital where she died shortly after arrival.

So she was alive when the police arrived. So close to saving her...

My husband works crazy hours and I've never been so stressed at him that I've contemplated taking it out on my children. Normal people don't do that. Whatever relationship, good or bad, the parents had has nothing to do with a parent strangling her child to death.

wow! blame the father because he comes home at 930pm????

Guess what my husband sees us 3-4 months either we go see him in U.S or he comes home for 2 weeks.

That is just a lame sick excuse to murder your own child!!!

“if the father hadn't been coming home so late at 9:30 pm etc (probably daily)”

In this case, the husband’s place of work was a workshop on the first floor of the family home.

Intellectually disabled? Why is she even having children, let alone being left alone with a child. So many issues at so many levels.

My bad...I thought that Kazuno was the mother's name.....even more sad to know that the child was mentally disabled. Yes this woman should hang

The mother obviously has mental issues, I notice there is no mention of the father, makes me wonder because of the Childs mental problems he left the family. All around very sad.
